State Opioid Response (SOR) Application Narrative

PURPOSE: The purpose of the State Opioid Response (SOR) grant program is to address unmet needs of the opioid overdose crisis by providing resources to increase access to FDA-approved medications for the treatment of opioid use disorder (OUD). SOR supports the continuum of prevention, harm reduction, treatment, and recovery support services. This Funding Opportunity is only for Community Services Board apply for treatment . If your organization also wishes to apply for Recovery or Prevention funds, please apply under the applicable funding opportunity. Allowable services must address the unmet needs of those with opioid-related addiction. SOR requires evidence-based treatment, practices, and interventions for OUD and stimulant use disorders. All SOR recipients are required to collect and report certain data and program information to the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) and its evaluation partner.

The SOR program is made possible by a grant from The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). SAMHSA was established in 1992 to make substance use and mental disorder information, services, and research more accessible.
